This week is Bike Week and many people are already taking part in events all over the country to promote cycling. Delivered by Cycling UK, Bike Week is an annual opportunity to show how cycling can easily be part of everyday life by encouraging ‘everyday cycling for everyone’. Cycling can deliver social, health and environmental benefits and the week aims to get people to give cycling a go, be it for fun, as a means of getting to work or school, the local shops or just to visit friends.
The 2016 event takes place 11-19th June and has a special focus on encouraging people to use their bikes to cycle to work. There are events planned in workplaces all over the country including ‘buddy’ rides with colleagues and work place challenges. Has your business got involved yet? Most of our virtual assistants work from home but we have certainly been encouraging them and their families to get out on their bikes this week where they can.
If you have not been out cycling already there are still a couple of days left to get involved and see how encouraging cycling could benefit you and your business. Though it can feel hard to find the time, exercise such as cycling can significantly improve your productivity during the day, making it a worthwhile investment.
