The World’s biggest Coffee Morning takes place on 25th September this year and businesses both large and small can get involved and help raise money to ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.
You can sign up online to get a free Coffee Morning kit with everything you need to host your own coffee morning in your workplace. Bringing people together through events such as this can not only raise money for charity but also improve relationships and communication within your team.
You can also search on their website http://coffee.macmillan.org.uk/ to find an event near you that you could go along to and attend - you never know who you might meet, or what connections they might have.
Perhaps if you attend or run a networking meeting which takes place on 25th September you could suggest that the event becomes a Macmillan Coffee morning as well, helping to raise funds for such an important cause. Or using social media like Twitter can enable you to get involved in a coffee morning without even leaving your house.
Last year the event raised over £25 million and over the past 25 years the event has generated over £138 million in donations for Macmillan. One in three of us will face cancer and the money is used to help ensure no one has to face it alone. Just £27 could pay for a Macmillan nurse to spend an hour with someone who has just been told they have cancer, to help answer all the questions they might have and provide the support they need.
Why not hold a virtual coffee morning? Our team of VAs might be remotely based but we can all still come together for a coffee (and some cake!) and put our pennies in the pot and we will be doing just that.
Our team of highly experienced VAs take on the tasks you don’t have time to do, don’t have the skills to do or simply don’t want to do. Please get in touch on 01483 332220 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We pride ourselves on being the staff you don’t see, but the difference you do.
