Here at Get Ahead VA our people are everything.  Our ever growing team has a wide range of highly skilled professionals with different backgrounds, expertise and even different personalities to ensure that we can find exactly the right VA to match our customers' requirements.

Here’s 60 seconds with one of our VAs who is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to internet marketing and website development, having created her first website 15 years ago:

Name: Julie Roman

Area of expertise: Technical Support

When & why did you join Get Ahead VA: I joined Get Ahead VA in 2013 as it seemed such a great opportunity to join a company that feels the same way as I do about the benefits of high quality virtual assistant services.  I love Rebecca’s passion and enthusiasm for what she does.

What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA: I created my first website back in 1999.  From those early days of online brochures to 2014’s digital marketing the online world has evolved somewhat - and keeps changing!  With a decade of website experience including running a website design agency for 5 years I set up my own business WebsiteVA  (www.websiteva.co.uk) in October 2013 after much research. I wanted to offer a savvy alternative to web design agencies and the response has been amazing.  I also have an Internet Journalism Diploma and am a Certified Coach.  I combine all this with being a mum, walking my mad cocker spaniel in the country and cooking up my signature Victoria Sponge cakes in the kitchen!

Career highlight to date: My first book was published in 2010 called ‘Selling with Heart: Selling the Feminine Way’. I created an easy to use sales system that I have been using for the last 15 years that helps me to work with my ideal clients and ensures that I maximise opportunities.  It lets my clients see the value of what I do and because I am busy it means that I work less hours for more money! We’ve all experienced the ‘hard sell’ at some point in our lives.  Many women say “I can’t sell,” but what they really mean is “I can’t sell that way.”  Selling with Heart gives an effective alternative to many women looking to create their own sales approach; so that they can be themselves and be successful.

Plans for the future: I am working on the launch of SalesVA which will help coaches, consultants, trainers and holistic professionals to promote their services, engage with more customers and grow their businesses.
