Here’s 60 seconds with one of our new franchisees, Fiona, who has just become the manager of Get Ahead VA Leeds. She has 20 years’ experience in delivering organisation and exceptional customer service to retailers, manufacturers and businesses.

When and why did you join Get Ahead VA? I joined Get Ahead VA in January 2018. I’ve always wanted to run my own business, and after researching a number of options that would utilise my skills, I met Rebecca. The business and the team are a perfect match for me as they deliver real results for the businesses they work with, offering a flexible approach that suits the client. The flexibility for me to work from home and still be able to do the school run is really valuable.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA? I worked for over 20 years in both retail and manufacturing. During this time I was fortunate enough to have a diverse range of jobs, including being a project manager delivering software improvements to business. I loved the pace and the people but I decided I wanted to do something of my own.
Career highlight to date: Meeting the Get Ahead team and completing my training, as this was the real start of my journey. Everyone was very welcoming and extremely helpful in sharing their knowledge in their areas of expertise. I know I will have many more highlights in the coming year and the support of the Get Ahead team to achieve them!
Plans for the future: To grow the Get Ahead business in Leeds and Wakefield, and to find the right team to work with me to deliver visible results for our clients.
