Meet the VA: Gillian Bryant

Here at Get Ahead VA, our people are everything. Our ever-growing team includes a wide range of highly skilled professionals with different backgrounds, expertise and personalities to ensure we can find exactly the right virtual assistant to match our customers’ requirements.

Here’s 60 seconds with one of our VAs, Gillian, who has lots of experience working in in typing and transcription.

When & why did you join Get Ahead VA?

Since joining the VA Team (August 2020), my natural willingness to support others combined with my love of tapping the keyboard quickly and accurately; means that at the end of each assignment—we’re all very happy people!

What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA?

I have worn a few different hats during my varied career; transcription and typing being one of them. After training with Pitmans, I spent the next four years transcribing ‘Interview under Caution’ recordings for the Fraud Department .. all very top secret!

Being self-employed for many years as a hair salon owner, and a restaurateur; the importance of maintaining a diligent approach in business has been a valuable lesson.

I am a creative person, with an exceptional eye for detail—which is probably why I studied photography and then went onto work as a photographic technician at The Royal College of Art, London.

Career highlight to date:

On reflection; the realisation that throughout my professional life, the common thread has been listening and providing a service for others, regardless of the industry.

For me, it really is about treating people along the way, as ‘one’ would hope to be treated.

Plans for the future:

To achieve a healthy balance between building and maintaining a client base, where I can provide a consistent, professional service; combined with my passion for sailing.

If your business could benefit from Gillian’s help, or from any of our other VAs, please get in touch on 01483 332220 or office@getaheadva.com. We pride ourselves on being the staff you don’t see, but the difference you do.
