When and why did you join Get Ahead VA? I joined Get Ahead VA in 2018 to be able to work on a variety projects whilst having a flexible work–life balance.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA? As well as working freelance, I had set up a business looking to promote my local area as a destination and to support local produce. A very challenging project.
Career highlight to date: It would have to be the creation of the tourism/support-local business. Although it hasn’t gone as expected, it’s been rewarding in different ways, and I’ve met some very passionate business owners and organised a Jazz and Blues festival.
Plans for the future: I’m still looking to support the local area; there is an amazing tourism project coming up that I’m keen to be involved in. And, with my passion for photography and the outdoors, I’m always keen to get out and about and take a snap or two to share.
