When & why did you join Get Ahead VA:

I joined Get Ahead VA only very recently although I’ve been working from home for around ten years with clients wanting PR for their businesses.  Prior to that I left a career in  public sector press and communications working in London.  I’ve known Rebecca for a long time so it is lovely to finally work with her.

What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA:

I worked for central Government in media relations and communications for over 20 years in departments including The Department for International Development, Department for Transport and The Cabinet Office.  I set up my own business around ten years ago and have been working with clients across the B2B and charity sectors since then helping them to achieve great media coverage, working on raising their profiles and helping them to grow their businesses. 

Career highlight to date:

Well that’s quite easy!  I was lucky enough to meet Nelson Mandela when I worked for the Department for International Development in one of my first press office roles.  It was a very exciting moment and he was very charming!

Plans for the future:

I would like to keep on helping clients to grow their businesses using the power of PR to generate business leads and great media coverage.
