Here’s 60 seconds with one of our VAs, Lucy, a graphic designer who recently joined our team in Berkshire and North Hampshire.
Name: Lucy Wynn
Area of expertise: Graphic design, including branding, brochures, exhibitions and events, websites and advertising.
When and why did you join Get Ahead VA? I have just been introduced to Get Ahead VA. I love working for myself, but I also enjoy being part of a team, so this presented the perfect opportunity. The concept of providing a virtual service complements the way I work, offering flexibility around family life, while also providing a reliable and dedicated client service.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA? I was employed as a graphic designer for around 10 years, working in agencies across the South East and London. I made the decision to freelance in 2008, and since then I have been working for a variety of clients across different industries, from property to retail.
Career highlight to date: Making the decision to work for myself. I love the challenge of running a business, meeting new people and learning about different industries. I also really love assisting start-up companies to achieve success with the help of an effective brand behind them.
Plans for the future: To continue to grow my business in the areas I work within, plus extend into new industries. To develop my knowledge and expertise to enable me to continue to enjoy a balance of work and family life.
