When & why did you join Get Ahead VA: I joined Get Ahead in November 2018 after a friend recommended it to me. Having two young children I was searching for a job that would offer me the flexibility to be there for my family whilst having a career and doing a job that I love. After meeting with Rebecca I knew Get Ahead was the company for me.
What did you do before you joined Get Ahead:
I have worked as an Office Manager and the PA to two Directors as well as an Assistant to five field based Managers. This was an extremely busy and varied role that required me to demonstrate strong communication skills along with excellent judgement and initiative. Working in such a fast paced environment I found that two days were never the same. From diary management to proof reading and formatting client proposals, to booking travel and managing the quarterly marketing campaigns. Luckily I am a great multi tasker who loves being organised and is always willing to go that extra mile.
Career highlight to date:
I organised and managed a charity event to raise money for a colleague’s daughter to receive life changing treatment in the United States. Through lots of hard work and people’s incredible generosity, the event achieved its target and the operation has made a significant difference to the little girl’s quality of life. This was an incredibly rewarding experience.
Plans for the future
My main focus over the coming months will be fundraising and lots of running, to prepare for the London Marathon 2019 It has always been on my bucket list and the time has come to tick it off. Wish me luck!
