Meet the VA: Nicola Warby

Here’s 60 seconds with one of our VAs, Nicola, who has lots of experience working in Marketing and as a Senior Executive Assistant.

Area of expertise: Executive Assistant, Marketing Strategy, Public Affairs & Event Management.

When & why did you join Get Ahead VA: I joined Get Ahead in July 2020. I loved the idea of trying something new and was drawn to Get Ahead by the flexibility it gives me and the idea of being my own boss. The variety of projects I have been able to work on so far has been great and the welcome and the support from the Get Ahead team has been fantastic. 

What did you do before you joined Get Ahead VA: I worked as a Marketing Manager specialising in Public Affairs and Government for a start-up company. Before this I was a Senior Executive Assistant for over 7 years, working in both start-ups and FTSE 100 companies. 

Career highlight to date: Building from scratch and managing a global school campaign aligned with STEM. Engaging and building relationships with MPs and key government officials was remarkably interesting, and knowing the positive impact that the campaign would have on children’s futures across the world was so motivating and inspiring. 

Plans for the future:  I am looking forward to working with my clients more and building these relationships. In my personal life I am studying for a degree in Politics, Economics, and Philosophy part-time so hoping to complete this year with the grades I would like to achieve.
