How outsourcing can benefit your business
There are so many great benefits of outsourcing! Get Ahead VA founder and owner Rebecca Newenham presented a seminar at The Business Show in Excel, London which discussed how outsourcing could benefit your business.
Her fact-packed presentation highlighted the growth and importance of the outsourcing industry, which delivers £21bn to the UK economy in added value.
In 2013 the number of businesses outsourcing increased by 46%, with more and more companies realising how it could help their business. From blogging to bookkeeping, design to diary management and social media to virtual PA services, more and more companies are realising what they can outsource and what it can deliver.
Using case studies from real clients Rebecca demonstrated how outsourcing can add value in three key areas:
- CASH – Business owners are sometimes concerned about how much outsourcing might cost, but it can actually be much cheaper and more flexible than directly employing a member of staff. Passing on time-consuming tasks can also free up business owners’ time to really add value and actually generate more cash for the business.
- CONSISTENCY – Will outsourcing to others reduce consistency in your business? Actually case studies show that working with the right partner for outsourcing – particularly an agency rather than an individual – can add consistency to your business. Different assistants with different skills can deliver consistent support when they work together under one agency roof.
- CONTROL – Many entrepreneurs have built their businesses from scratch. They are used to doing everything by themselves and can find it hard to let go. Having spent months or years perfecting their business style and client relationships, allowing someone else to represent their company or take on tasks can feel like a frightening prospect. Can anyone can do it as well as them? Savvy business owners realise that in order to grow and achieve their businesses’ potential they have to start to let go of some areas. Identifying those tasks that they feel they don’t have time to do, don’t have the skills to do, or simply don’t want to do can be the most effective place to start – enabling them to get back to what they do best – running their business.
